R&R Coffee Café: Black Forest's Premier Coffee Roaster, Café, and Bakery

Committed to the art...

Committed to the art of Coffee Craftsmanship

What exactly does that mean? Simple. For too long, people have been used to mediocre, uninspiring coffee. Ever since the invention of sealed cans and mass production of coffee, artisan roasting has taken a back seat to inferior quality coffee.

We aim to reverse that trend here at Golden Pine Roasters. Coffee should be treated as an experience--not just a way to wake up in the morning.

See, coffee--when roasted correctly--tells a story. Not just about the care and struggle it takes to grow and cultivate the coffee cherry, but about the culture. The smiling faces, the lush scenery, the blood, sweat, and tears of countless generations of farmers, societies, and experiences of the coffee world. As roasters, it is our responsibility to bring those stories to life. Roasting the coffee beyond dark mutes those stories to the point of incomprehension. Your cup of coffee should spark a realization that, yes, we're not alone in the world. If we can open that door to one person a day, we feel privliged. Are our coffee's stories and roast levels for everyone? No. But for those of you who choose to listen to that story our cup of coffee is telling you, we'll open up worlds and experiences rarely seen in Colorado Springs. Care to sit back and listen?

NEW! Try our coffees on a monthly subscription! Have our pick of the litter coffees delivered to your door every month! Is it worth $22/month to have great coffee? We think it is!

Complete Transparency
Our goal is to ensure you know exactly where your coffee comes from and what steps it takes to get to your cup. We have information concerning the farmers, growing and processing methods, and steps from the farm to us for the majority of our coffees. We are committed to making all of our coffee selections this transparent for you.
Micro-batch Roasting
We roast on two pound and one pound Sonofresco Coffee Roasters. By maintaining such a small batch level, we can guarantee you we inspect and treat each pound of coffee roasted with the utmost care and respect. Even small-batch roasters cannot guarantee this.
Continual Refinement
Our Roast Master is continually sampling and testing various roast profiles for our coffee selections. We are always looking for the best quality selection for our coffees. Only after careful sampling and consideration do we replace our current roast profiles.
Seasonality
A coffee's story is most vivid the closer it is to harvest. Sure, we could bring in coffees that are three, four years off the harvest, but most of those coffees have gone quiet. We try to only have the freshest coffees on hand. This does mean a continual rotation of what is available, but we believe that the variety in the stories make up for the continual changing of selection.
Recycling
All of our used coffee grounds and chaff is recycled by our regular guests to the shop. If you would like coffee grounds for your compost heap, just bring in a lidded bucket with your name and number on it.

If you have any questions about any of our coffee offerings, feel free to contact our Roast Master.
